Day 1: Arrive into Mumbai (Bombay) and get transferred to The Taj Mahal Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.



Day 2: Day free to explore the Cosmopolitan City of Mumbai

The Gateway of India, Vibrant, vital commercial center, Mumbai formerly known as Bombay is Asia’s largest seaport , amongst biggest industrial centers and has the most modern sophisticated hotels.

City Tour: A city tour includes a visit to the Gateway of India, erected to commemorate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911, Prince of Wales museum, Jehangir Art Gallery, Marine Drive Chowpatty beach, Hanging Gardens and the Crawford Market.

Day 3: Leave Mumbai by flight to Cochin and get transferred to Kumarakom.

Coconut Lagoon - This has been classified as a heritage resort. Located on the shores of Lake Vembanad the accommodation consists of individual cottages called " tharawads", the traditional wooden house of Kerala. Some of them date back to the 1700s. The restaurant is the oldest tharawad in the resort and incidentally has been mentioned in the book " God of Small Things ". Leisure activities include Sunset cruise or a visit to a small bird sanctuary close by.

Day 4: Spend the day at leisure at Kumarakom. Overnight at Kumarakom.

Day 5: Leave Kumarakom to board Houseboat

Leave the resort and get transferred to the boat jetty where you will board the House Boat to cruise along the backwaters at a leisurely pace.

House Boat: When you step aboard a Houseboat you step back into history, for these ‘moving masterpieces’ have been plying the inland waterways of Southwest India for untold centuries. The boat is attended to by a personal cook and two boat men, the stateroom is aft and has a queen-size bed with ensuite bathroom (minus shower). The cook’s galley is at the stern and power is supplied by solar panels. Carpeted coir flooring and the boatmen are dressed in lungi, or sarong, tied at the waist.

Day 6: Leave Houseboat for Thekkady by surface and on arrival check-in to Spice Village.

Set in the heart of the cardamom hills of Kerala, Spice Village Resort lies just outside the Periyar Tiger Reserve. The activities include a boat ride, a visit to a coffee plantation and even trekking.

Day 7: Leave Thekkady for Cochin by surface and on arrival check-in at Hotel Brunton BoatYard

The Brunton Boatyard Designed and built in the style of the early Dutch and Portuguese architecture of Fort Cochin the hotel is situated in the heart of 500 year old history. Fort Cochin believed to have been built by Vasco da Gama in 1498 still retains a charm. A walking tour in Mattancherry and the Jew town during the evening will be an unforgettable experience.

Overnight at Brunton Boatyard

Day 8: Leave Cochin by flight to Chennai and on arrival transfer to Hotel Taj Coromandel and overnight at Chennai.

Day 9: Leave Chennai to your international destinations with sweet memories of a Great Holiday.
